The cotton company, OLAM known as Zambeze Cotton Valley have
already bought over 900 tons of cotton in Báruè District of Manica Province in
Mozambique. According to the Senior
Agronomist of this company, Hama Chipisa, the district has more than 1250
cotton growers.
On the 13th of September of 2012, the buying team worked in Nhampassa in Chicodo
Zone. The Head of producers of this area, Robson Bande was very pleased to see
this buying team again in his area. At that area, OLAM managed to buy more than
40 tons of cotton leaving the producers with their hard cash in their hands. Hama
Chipisa is encouraging the cotton farmers to continua trusting his
company, on the other side the company is always ready to help all the farmers with inputs and agricultural
instruments such as plows and loans to facilitate high yields in the next
season, he pronounced to the press
